The holidays can be a fun time with tons of things to do around town; a lot (if not most) of them are suitable for those in recovery. From Christmas concerts, special events, and decorations, there is something for everyone to get in the holiday spirit while still staying sober.

South Palm Beach County

If you want to make the trip to Boca Raton, you can visit Sanborn Square and/or Mizner Park. Both feature large Christmas trees and glistening light shows.

Delray Beach features the famous 100-foot Christmas tree in the middle of downtown. COVID times means things are a little different with fewer attractions, but you can still visit the tree and then grab some hot chocolate from one of the shops downtown. Delray also offers children’s toy drives, carolers, and other live music events throughout the month. Plus, the storefronts will be competing in a window decorating contest and you can vote for your favorite display.

Central Palm Beach County

The town of Palm Beach will continue with its tradition of the Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade. This will be their 26th year and takes place on December 5th from 6-8 pm. This is a great opportunity to sit and relax as you watch the boats go by. You can watch the show from the Palm Beach Marina up to the Jupiter Inlet. For the history buffs out there, you can spend Christmas at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum. The museum is decked out for the holidays in the Gilded Age tradition, as well as themed each year. They have shopping opportunities for unique holiday gifts and have special nighttime tours of the museum.

West Palm Beach is the hub of holiday activity each year. The famous sand carved Christmas tree, Sandi, has been erected for the 9th year. This 700-ton sand tree puts on a light and music show every night from 6 – 10 pm from December 5th – 31st.

Also, in CityPlace at Rosemary Square, there is even more to enjoy. The square will be decorated to the extreme with lights, trees, and even some fake snow! There will be a Holiday Pup Party, Ornament Decorating Workshop, classes to make rosemary wreaths, and even holiday musical performances. You can even get your gifts wrapped in signature wrapping paper with all fees donated to charity. The Palm Beach Zoo will have the place all lit up to allow guests to walk through themed areas with awesome holiday displays. There are also opportunities to eat smores and decorate cookies.

West Palm Beach County

Okeeheelee Park is a fun way to see holiday lights without having to drive all around town. Here you have the ability to just drive-thru the park to see different light displays, music, and fun animated characters. Ticket proceeds will benefit local children’s hospitals and people in need.
