As a recent graduate of our program, you may experience a number of emotions, including loneliness, confusion, or disconnection. By surrounding yourself with a network of sober peers, you can alleviate these feelings via relationships with people who understand and are willing to share their experiences of how they stayed sober after completing treatment. Consequently, participation in our alumni program after treatment will solidify the foundation for long-term sobriety that you built while in our care.
In addition, we also recommend giving back to your local community and to those in need. Now is the time to give back to others in need just like those that were there to help you when you were struggling. We suggest involvement in community service opportunities in your hometown as well as getting plugged into your local 12-step fellowship as soon as possible. A good rule-of-thumb is to attend a 12-step meeting within the first 24 hours after leaving a structured environment.
No matter where your journey takes you after RRC, we are a family and are always available to assist members of our community in any way we can. In fact, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re ever struggling! Remember the axiom that pervades the rooms of 12-step fellowships across the world: “I can’t, but we can.”
